Interested in capital markets, art, writing, storytelling, and philanthropy.

My name is Sameer. While I am not a professional or formally trained artist, I firmly believe that creativity and skill from one field can influence and enhance other areas when pursued with conviction. In this sense, skill can transcend domains. I am inspired to create paintings that defy conventional categories, representing uncorrelated artwork that resonates with my pursuit of alpha—the edge. Through art, I aim to capture memories in their most simplistic form, fossilizing them on canvas before they are dwarfed by something more brilliant.

Beyond the canvas, I have established a successful career in trading and software engineering. With expansive leadership experience, I lead global teams to innovate in the face of challenges that demand creative problem-solving and time-sensitive execution in capital markets.

Outside of work, I carve time for wellness, connecting with people, tennis, cooking, traveling, strength training, poker, writing, synthesizing humor, interior design, and, most recently, surfing.

When it comes to art, my experience of relearning it has been fantastic. The oil medium is entirely new to me. I have enjoyed the glorious art surrounding us for many years, but I wanted to experience the labor, skill, thought process, and creativity in making art myself. I have intentionally confined myself to an orange hue to explore value and chroma while keeping the hue fixed. For me, value is the primary focus, with hue being secondary. That said, I don't have a distinct style yet—the art I've created is all over the place and fragmented. I'm drawing inspiration from different artists and their styles to find something unique, eliminating all the “um" s and “ah" s. In 2025, I plan to broaden my techniques while narrowing my focus on value.

Lately, I’ve also begun writing short, reflective pieces—excerpts that stem from moments of deep tranquility and heightened clarity about the human experience. The current atmosphere feels unusually ripe for this writing style, with human idiosyncrasies more accessible than ever. The work remains intentionally cursory and experimental.

*All my paintings are available for free—for anyone who wishes to experience them.
